We would like to welcome you to San Diego for our 32nd Annual Advances in the Practice of Pediatrics Conference. This program is designed for pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and allied health professionals caring for children.

We are honored to have Dr. Thomas Keens, Professor of Pediatrics, Physiology, and Biophysics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Keck School of Medicine who is an expert on the topic of pediatric sleep who will be talking on the topic of SIDS and Safe Sleep in children and Dr. Dan Hershey, Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at University of California San Diego and hospitalist at Rady Children’s Hospital who will be taking about the role of the pediatrician in the practice of safe sleep. In addition, Dr. John Bradley, Professor and Chief of the Division of Infectious Disease at the University of California San Diego and Chair of the PIDS/IDSA Pediatric Community Pneumonia Guidelines Writing Committee, will be speaking on the National Pediatric Community Pneumonia Guidelines.

As always, our own nationally recognized faculty will cover subspecialty topics in Cardiology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Neonatology, Neurology; Gynecology, Developmental Pediatrics, and Urology. We will also have dedicated time for a number of topics in Pediatric Dermatology. The conference combines lectures with case-based learning and panel discussions.

Attending our course will provide you with the latest clinical updates in “hot” pediatric topics and evidence-based medicine. You will have the opportunity to learn about the future of pediatric medicine as well as the newest approaches for pediatric management and diagnosis, and to network and discuss cases directly with the faculty and peers.

CONTINUING THIS YEAR is our HANDS ON SIMULATION EXPERIENCE on common medical equipment and medical emergencies in the pediatric medical office setting. Participants will have the opportunity to use and engage with the latest state-of-the-art equipment to review necessary skills for dealing with medical equipment and medical emergencies in the context of the medical office. Enrollment is limited and first come, first serve so please register for this optional add-on course quickly!
